WBT-PlasmaProtect™

The WBT gold plated connectors now receive their protective gold layer through the "Physical Vapour Deposition" (PVD) process.

All the WBT cinch plugs use a clamping mechanism, which works in the same way as the chuck device in a drill, firmly clamps the outer contact against the RCA socket. The high clamping pressure not only guarantees a secure connection but also minimises transition resistance. In addition, any size variation in the outer contact of a socket is compensated for, thereby ensuring a perfect fit.

The clamping sleeve is designed with two sections so that the front section moves freely as the rear section is turned. This eliminates the risk of torsional strain on the contact elements.

The central pin is slotted and ideally formed thereby giving a firm yet elastic contact which ensures lasting and reliable electrical connection with absolutely minimal transition resistance.

WBT-0114 Cu, Nextgen

The metal parts are made from a special copper alloy and are 24 carat gold-plated to prevent oxidation, which could negatively impact on contact quality.

The largest part of the body is made from Ultramid®
The barrel is made of brass and finished in a matte black galvanized finish.

The insulation within the connector is made from heat resistant Teflon*, a distinct advantage when soldering connection cables, particularly when working with the higher soldering temperatures of lead-free solder.

When combined with WBT RCA sockets, the contacts are positioned in such a way that the outer conductor is in contact before the inner conductor, thereby preventing undesirable or even harmful voltage peaks.

A Torx screw provides reliable cable strain relief on the cable.

WBT-0110 Cu, Nextgen

The contact elements of the plug are made of high-purity copper, one of the best electrical conductors, in order to ensure optimum signal transmission. The metal is nickel-free gold-plated so that the surface does not oxidize and impair contact quality.

The body is constructed of Ultramid®, while the negative contact uses Dyneon™.
The Barrel is comprised of Al/Mg alloy for improved rejection of EMI.

Eddy currents occur in metal components close to where alternating currents flow. These currents can result in major signal distortions. The WBT-0110 Cu is designed in such a way that eddy currents do NOT OCCUR AT ALL.

Passivated pure fine silver contacts. The body is constructed of Ultramid®, while the negative contact uses Dyneon™. The Barrel is comprised of Al/Mg alloy for improved rejection of EMI. With a characteristic impedance of 75 ohms, the WBT-0110 makes the perfect match for digital audio and video. The maximum size conductor that can be used is 1.5mm² / 16-17 AWG. Maximum diameter of cable with dielectric is 9mm² / 0.354 inches². The barrel is offered in cobalt blue only. Transmission bandwidth 1 GHz. Eddy current free. Characteristic impedance: 75 ohms. For cable up to 9 mm dia. Termination technique: soldering.

WBT-0102 Cu, Nextgen

You have to look closely to see the difference between the 0110 and the 0102 connector.
A larger part of the (inside) body is made from brass and then plated. This does make for a more sturdy connector, but eddy currents can occur. Also the barrel is comprised of brass.

Often imitated (how flattering), WBT male RCA type plugs have many features that separate them from the rest. Most notably is the locking feature found on all WBT male RCA type plugs.
