PM-1
We
believe that audio circuits must be designed
without feedback. So, the whole PM-1 is zero-feedback,
all discrete, with top active and passive parts:
Toshiba, Dale, ERO. Everything has been chosen
for the music only.
The RIAA equalization is accurate and completely
passive. Moreover, it's splitted in two sections
to improve accurancy and sound quality. This
is a very rare choice even in cost-no-object
products but it is very important for the music.
Input impedance can be set choosing between
47kohm and 1kohm, and choosing any combination
among 100pF, 200pF and 400pF, for a perfect
match with your cartridge.
Intense use of HDG blocks helps to reduce noise
and to increase dynamic.
The power transformer of the PM-1 is made with
a top quality core, usually used in audio output
transformers. In order to improve ESR, many
low value electrolytic capacitors have been
used in stead of one or two with high value
ones.
Several shunt regulated power supplies can be
found in PM-1. Shunt regulation is expensive
and as a consequence rarely seen. It's difficult
to find this technique even in high cost products.
We reduced any kind of noise coming from the
power supply in many ways. It's very important
to have clean, pure and fast power supplies.
To improve the performance, we designed a custom
mains filter. Despite the zero-feedback discrete
design, the result in noise and hum rduction
is a deep silence..
